ROHM Unveils 600V Super Junction MOSFETs Tailored for Power Supplies in Lighting, Pumps, and Motor Applications
ROHM has expanded its range of space-saving 600 V Super Junction MOSFETs with the launch of five new models: R6004END4, R6003KND4, R6006KND4, R6002JND4, and R6003JND4, tailored for compact lighting power supplies, as well as pumps and motor-driven equipment.
As technology advances, the push for miniaturization of components within lighting systems and motor-driven pumps demands MOSFETs that blend a small footprint with exceptional switching capabilities. Traditionally, achieving the sought-after equilibrium of high breakdown voltage and low ON resistance in a tiny Super Junction MOSFET has been challenging.
Addressing this, ROHM has innovatively redesigned the chip configuration, leading to the creation of five models housed in the SOT-223-3 package (measuring 6.50 mm x 7.00 mm x 1.66 mm). This advancement offers a more compact and low-profile solution while preserving the high performance of standard offerings.
ROHM's newly introduced MOSFETs realize a 31% area reduction and a 27% thinner profile compared to the conventional TO-252 package (6.60 mm x 10.00 mm x 2.30 mm). These components align with the same land pattern as the TO-252 package, facilitating their incorporation into existing PCB designs without necessitating any changes.
Each model is distinguished by unique attributes that cater to specific application needs. Models such as R6004END4, optimized for low-noise environments; R6003KND4 and R6006KND4, designed for high-speed switching; and R6002JND4 and R6003JND4, employing PrestoMOS™ technology for minimized switching losses, provide a comprehensive suite of solutions for a variety of requirements.
ROHM extends a suite of supporting materials for these products, including application notes, technical documentation, and SPICE models, readily available on their website at no cost to support rapid deployment into the market.
