Diodes Incorporated has unveiled its latest vehicular-grade intelligent power switches, namely the ZXMS82090S14PQ, ZXMS82120S14PQ, and ZXMS82180S14PQ - marking an addition to the IntelliFET line of self-protected MOSFETs. These advanced switches are engineered to handle high power demands elegantly within a small form factor and are packed with sophisticated protection mechanisms and diagnostic features. The new series is optimally crafted for powering 12 V applications in cars, such as LED systems, bulbs, and motorized components found in body controls and illumination setups.
Each member of this series integrates a dual array of 41 V-rated n-channel MOSFETs coupled with integrated circuits designed for tackling short circuits, controlling surge currents, and averting overvoltage scenarios like load dumps. The devices also come with overtemperature safety features which recover automatically, in addition to being resistant to electrostatic discharge. With additional external components, they can be configured to resist ground loss and reverse polarity situations.
Exceptional current monitoring precision is made possible by a specific current sense pin that handles current tracking for outputs and offers fault detection signaling for conditions such as short-to-battery, short-to-ground, and open-load scenarios.
