Extending Battery Life in Mobile Devices
The AH1899A/AH1899B/AH1899S series operates on a low supply voltage range of 1.1V to 2.0V, seamlessly integrating with modern application chipsets typically operating at 1.2V. This ensures ease of use and minimizes power consumption. Additionally, the highly efficient architecture boasts an ultra-low typical average operating current of just 0.95µA at 1.2V. To further extend battery life, these switches incorporate a hibernating clocking system that maximizes system energy savings in battery-powered devices.
Ideal for Diverse Applications
The AH1899A/AH1899B/AH1899S series offers versatile functionality thanks to its omnipolar operation, meaning it detects either north or south magnetic poles close to the package surface. This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications in mobile devices, including:
- Cover and Case Detection: Detect the open/closed status of covers and cases for smartphones and tablets, enabling features like automatic sleep/wake functionality.
- Proximity Detection: Implement proximity detection in digital cameras and handheld gaming consoles for features like automatic screen activation or power saving modes.
- Contactless Switching: Enable various contactless switching applications within mobile devices.
Enhanced Performance and Design Flexibility
The AH1899A/AH1899B/AH1899S series features an advanced chopper-stabilized topology that minimizes operating (BOP) and release (BRP) point drift with respect to supply voltage and temperature fluctuations. This ensures consistent and reliable performance across various operating conditions.
Designers are offered flexibility with two sensitivity grades. The AH1899B and AH1899S operate when the magnetic field strength (B) exceeds 30 Gauss and release below 20 Gauss. The AH1899A offers higher sensitivity, operating at 18 Gauss and releasing at 12 Gauss. All versions remain off when no magnetic field is present.
Compact Footprint and Simplified Design
The AH1899A/AH1899B/AH1899S series comes in a space-saving X2-DFN1010-4 (Type B) surface-mount package, measuring a mere 1.0 mm x 1.0 mm with a low profile of 0.4 mm. This minimizes board space requirements in mobile device designs. Additionally, the integrated pull-up and pull-down resistors within the circuitry eliminate the need for external components, further simplifying PCB design.
